Congratulations to Aerospace Engineering student Nick Stefanidis, recognized as a CSCAA Division III Scholar All-American.

TROY, N.Y. – The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's and women's swimming teams were honored this past week, as both squads earned College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America Division III Scholar All-America teams. Additionally, senior Alyssa Cahill for the women's team and Matt Abraham, Michael Dowd, and Nick Stefanidis for the men's team were individually named CSCAA Division III Scholar All-Americans.
 
The awards are in recognition of teams that achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or higher during the spring 2023 semester. The women's team posted a team GPA of 3.54, while the men added a 3.45 GPA.
 
Both teams are coached by Shannon O'Brien (swimming) and Maria Coomaraswamy-Falkenstein (diving) and combined to boast a 12-6 dual meet record in 2022-23.
 
Individually, the RPI swimmers were four of 561 student-athletes that were recognized, with 265 women and 296 men at the Division III Level earning honors.
 
Founded in 1922, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), is the nation's first organization of college coaches. The mission of the CSCAA is to advance the sport of swimming and diving with coaches at the epicenter of leadership, advocacy, and professional development.
